Catch up on your holiday shopping while browsing our selection of local vendors selling hand-crafted goods out on our winter patio. Try a drink from our special holiday menu, and enjoy a stroll through our property, lit up with lights and illuminations for the season. Then come back to our cozy fireplace to listen to songs and stories with a local Santa.

Parking is limited, and this will be an outdoor event, so please dress warmly and carpool in if possible.

Carolers from Soli Deo Gloria Choir will be providing a holiday soundtrack for the day — and your last minute holiday shopping.

Need your gifts wrapped, but don’t have time to do it? No problem, come up and we’ll wrap your gifts for you. Donations accepted for wrapping. Staying to wrap your own gifts? We’ll have a cookie exchange while we’re wrapping. If you have gift wrapping supplies that you’d like to donate, please bring them in by Dec 19th.

All are welcome for Bear Creek Regional Park’s portion of the 2025 Christmas Bird Count. Be prepared for col, snow, and icy trails. Later that evening, gather at Bear Creek Nature Center from 5:00-6:30 p.m. for a potluck and species compilation.

Tell the world about your favorite book! Prepare a creative book report at home and present it informally to other families. You can make a diorama, design a game based on the plot and characters, or make a poster for the movie version. You can even create a book in a bag, make a clothes hanger mobile, or retell the story in comic book format. The possibilities are endless! Projects will be presented in a science fair type format.

Grades K - 12. Registration is required if you want to present. Please register each student who will participate or just drop by to browse the projects and discover your next favorite book!

The OCC Christkindlmarket is a new, authentic German holiday market coming to Old Colorado City this December. Building on 25 years of success with Denver’s Christkindlmarket, the German American Chamber of Commerce - Colorado Chapter is bringing this festive tradition to life on a cozy, smaller scale with 10 handcrafted wooden huts, authentic German food, drinks, and cultural entertainment. The event aims to create lasting economic impact and community value. Free and open to all, the market prioritizes local partnerships, including local vendors, artists, and performers. With strong community support, the Christkindlmarket is set to become a cherished holiday tradition in Old Colorado City.

Discover Canadian painter Ted Harrison and explore how to apply fluid, organic lines and bright colors to achieve a distinctive northern landscape. Create layered land, water, and sky forms, then apply rich hues of color to bring a piece of the Canadian Yukon to life in your vibrant masterpiece! Ages 8 - 13. Registration required.

Join us to create a fun oasis using Rigamajig, a life-size building set with wooden planks, gears, hardware, and more. For this engineering challenge, students will team up to design and construct structures that are strong enough to keep dangerous animals out, but able to welcome friendly animals in. Ages 5 - 12.

Christmas Tales:

Every Tuesday (Nov. 4 to Dec. 23) at 5 p.m., Santa or Mrs. Claus will read holiday stories to families, followed by photos. Free reservations are required.

UNAA AREA QUALIFIER, December 14th(Food Drive)We're excited to be hosting a UNAA Season 11 Area Competition at Altitude Movement.

Kids' Night Out from 6pm - 9pm  (Kids' Night Out is a win-win for parents looking to have an evening date night, and children looking to stay up and have fun! During our Kids' Night Out, your child will engage in structured obstacle circuits, tackle new obstacles, enjoy free play time…all while having a blast!)

For teens ages 13 - 18 only. Start your 3D printing and designing journey with PPLD!  We will create and print custom projects using Tinkercad, a free online 3D design software. No previous experience required. After completing this badging class, you will be able to use the 3D printers on your own during makerspace open hours at East, Library 21c, and Sand Creek libraries. Participants will need to sign a waiver for anyone between the ages of 13-18 to use the 3D printers independently.

Caregivers- Enjoy a morning to yourself while your child spends the morning at Bear Creek hiking, learning about adaptations of animals in winter, and creating a seasonal ornament. Lunch included. Dress for weather and hike. Recommended ages 6-11

Get your young ones outside and enjoying different games, activities, themes, and crafts each month! $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid registration required. To avoid problems with your reservation, please register all members of your party at once, including yourself and all children you will bring. This is not a drop-off program.

1 to 4 maximum adult to child ratio. Childcare groups may contact us to schedule a separate program for your group. Explore the world of nature with your 4-5 year old!

Each session of the Junior Advisory Board (JAB) will include time for you to give ideas and feedback, as well as time for a fun project or activity. For ages 9 - 12. Registration required.
