Kid’s Cooking Mini Camp

Our 3-day mini-camp is the perfect way for young chefs (ages 7-14) to spend their time off school—learning hands-on kitchen skills, working alongside professional instructors, and making festive dishes and treats they’ll be proud to share with family and friends.

Each day, campers will dive into themed cooking and baking projects that celebrate the season—think cozy breads, festive pies, holiday-inspired savory dishes, and even creative twists on Thanksgiving classics. Along the way, they’ll learn kitchen safety, teamwork, and the science behind great cooking—all in a fun, supportive environment designed for kids.

Whether your child is a budding foodie or just loves to get creative, this camp is the perfect recipe for holiday memories.

Best of all, they’ll bring home their creations (and the confidence to keep cooking!)—making them part of your Thanksgiving celebration in a whole new way.

TREE GIVEAWAY

Mountain Community Coalition announces their 3 rd Annual Live Christmas Tree Giveaway and Family Holiday Extravaganza in Divide, CO

As the holiday season approaches, Mountain Community Coalition (MoCoCo) invites families, friends, neighbors, and visitors to gather in the spirit of celebration, giving, and community. This years’ event will be held at the Pikes Peak Community Center, 11122 US Highway 24 Divide, CO on Saturday November 28 th from 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday, November 29 th from 10 am to 2 pm. The event is hosted by MoCoCo, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enriching rural communities. This heartwarming holiday event promises to kick off the season with festive cheer and meaningful connection. Trees with a Purpose At the heart of the extravaganza is the Live Christmas Tree Giveaway, offering attendees a chance to take home a beautiful, fresh-cut tree ranging from 4-8 feet tall. These festive trees have been harvested by North Florissant Colorado (NoFloCo) Fire Mitigation Posse, a volunteer group based in Florissant, CO working to reduce wildfire risk through responsible forest thinning. The trees come from private properties in the Florissant area, generously made available by private landowners and harvested with care by NoFloCo volunteers. This collaboration not only provides families with a cherished holiday tradition but also contributes to local fire safety and forest health. It’s a win-win for the environment and the community. In addition to the trees, the event will offer new and gently used ornaments and holiday home decorations for those in need ensuring every home can be adorned with holiday sparkle regardless of circumstance. A Celebration for All Ages Inside the Community Center, the festivities continue with a wide array of activities designed to delight guest of all ages. Whether you’re sipping a warm drink, shopping for homemade gifts, or watching your child beam in a photo with Santa, there’s something for everyone. Portions of the event will be free of charge, with select activities and items available for a fee. Old-fashioned Candy Counter: Rediscover nostalgic sweets from your childhood and share them with the next generation Hot Chocolate & Hot Cider Station: Warm up with cozy beverages perfect for chilly mountain days

Elf Games and Crafts: Kids can dive into holiday themed activities that spark creativity and joy Artisan Vendors: Browse unique and handcrafted items ideal for holiday gifts or personal treasures Photos with Santa: Capture magical memories with the jolly man himself Christmas music: Enjoy the sounds of the season as local musicians and curated playlists fill the air with cheer Why Community Events Matter In a world that often feels fast-paced and disconnected, events like the Live Christmas Tree Giveaway and Family Holiday Extravaganza serve as vital touchpoints for community cohesion. They offer opportunities to celebrate diversity, foster relationships, and promote positive change through shared experiences. MoCoCo believes that regular, well-executed events are keys to building stronger and more unified communities by creating spaces where people can come together and make neighborhoods thrive. Volunteers, local organizations, residents, and visitors can unite around a common goal: to spread joy, support one another, and celebrate the season in meaningful ways. Come for a tree, stay for the fun, and leave with a heart full of holiday spirit.
